I would like the chance to tell you about of a terrific cause that has special meaning for me and likely for many of you as well – The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Society’s mission is to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve quality of life for patients and their families.

In June of 2000 I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. As a TNT volunteer, I accepted two challenges – to get in shape to run the Chicago marathon and also to support the fight against leukemia and blood-related cancers by raising over $4,500. The six months that encompassed my training, fundraising and participation for the 2000 Chicago Marathon as a TNT Team Member will forever be etched as one of the most memorable periods of my lifetime. As I crossed the finish line, feelings of joy, a sense of accomplishment, but mainly thoughts of those who I was running in memory and in honor of swelled within my heart. After completing this endeavor, I felt the need to become even more involved with the LSA Team in Training.

I am honored to be a LSA Team Captain and member for the June 2001 San Diego Rock n’ Roll Marathon. I have once again accepted the challenge to train for the 26.2 mile marathon and to raise $3,600 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I think these goals are worthy of my best efforts and hope you’ll help by being one of my sponsors.

Thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me in this endeavor!!!
